treat soil.
Soil Preparation :
Soil should be prepared and treated before sowing.
Strains :
Khao Dawk Mali 105 and Kor Khor 15, the best aroma rice strains in Thailand and
in the world are used. The strains grow very well in the area of Surin Province.
These standard strains are selected and well kept in chemicals free environment. |

Growing Method : Either
broadcast or transplantation method is used. The latter one is more proper in
planting organic Hom Mali rice. The paddy sprout used in this method is 30 days
old of age, strong, and diseases free.
|
|
Weeds Control :
Chemicals are avoided in unwanted plants control. Natural mechanisms are used by
preparing suitable soil and managing appropriate water level to control weeds
etc.
|
| Protection and
Elimination of Plant Diseases and Insects :
Mixed method is being adopted such as planting crop rotation, maintaining
natural balance, using natural insectivores such as Hum, Bien, or natural
insecticide from some plant extract such as margosa, galingale, or citronella
grass.
Management Before and
After Harvest : Drain water from the
paddies 10-15 days before ripeness to keep it fully mature. After the harvest,
dry off harvested stubbles in the sun in order to keep good quality of grain
before hulling. |

Grain is kept in appropriate environment either in a barn or storehouse to
prevent it from insects. There is no chemical used in the barn or storehouse.
